Drawing on a family tradition that began with the first Dorsey-owned restaurant in 1941, the menu at Dorsey's features steaming platefuls of southern home cooking. Any day of the week, choose from a swimmy selection of seafood, including deep-fried or grilled catfish fillets and prawns. Or try robust helpings of fried chicken, liver and onions, and more. Dorsey's also offers a rotating daily menu; Friday's menu, for example, doles out helpings of smothered steak, chitterlings, barbecue ribs and chicken or links, and gumbo. Most entrees are served nicely neighbored by three sides of your choice.

My Uncle and Aunt opened their first Restaurant in 1941 in West Oakland and moved to current location in 1956. The business relies on family recipes and approach to "southern" cooking handed down through generations.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We've served the greater "Bay Area" for over 70 years. Longevity and a commitment to consistently delicious food, prepared with love and excellent customer services.
