Dusty is now in collaboration with Stanford University, graduate school of education. Our mission and goal is to bridge the digital divide, by providing access to cutting edge technology, as well as to increase literacy and multimodal communication that can ease the vocabulary requirements by any single communication method. Dusty is for Youth and Adults, as well as seniors. Another aspect of DUSTY is STEM Literacy & Education, Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math. "DUSTY is a fun place to learn and it’s like school but it’s not school" quote by a 5th grader. Our adult and family literacy program provides a space for cultural preservation, which recognizes the importance of many strands of culture such a: language, stories, songs, dances, practical skills; buildings; sacred sites; artifacts; arts and crafts; as relationships to the land, identity, and other subsistence forms of expression. UC Berkeley, GSE is a former collaborative partner of DUSTY and the dept. (GSE) is no longer associated with dusty, however DUSTY is open to other departments and collaborations. DUSTY has been the starting point for 25 or more Graduate Students to gain valuable teaching experience working with adults and youth, who are now working professionals & "Professors" teaching in the field. DUSTY has grown into an internationally known program where you can find articles written about DUSTY online. Look for an expansion of DUSTY coming soon; we are looking to move into fashion, art, animation and multi-media. Dusty has recently formed a new partnership with 32Ten Studios. Look for some new and exciting programs as well as job training in the field of technology and STEM education in the future.
