How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I began my career as a pediatric Occupational Therapist. I worked in the schools with developmentally disabled children and did home services as well. I studied CranioSacral Therapy because I had heard it might help me with my kids with Autism spectrum disorders and sensory processing issues. I REALLY helped and i so enjoyed connecting with my clients in this way that I eventually left my OT job and set up shop offering CranioSacral Therapy to babies, children and adults. I still rely heavily on my OT background and my understanding of childhood development, and it is very helpful to have that in the background of my CST practice. The Holistic Pelvic Care™ part of my work developed out of my love of supporting moms and babies. I have worked externally with the pelvis for my entire practice, focusing on sacrum mobility and pelvic alignment as well as working energetically with this space. I have found it incredibly powerful to work with the Pelvic Floor internally. Women need so much love and support here at their root, and for most of us, receiving HPC is the first time we really experience healing presence at this part of our body.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
My practice is a blend of body, mind and spirit. I ask my clients to take a very active roll in their sessions. I don't fix people... I use my skills as a body-listener and facilitator to guide them to their own body wisdom. I want my clients to feel empowered by the information they receive and to experience their own bodies as the real healer in the room.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I have one location with no plans to expand.

I am at 5442 Boyd Avenue in Oakland. Between Hudson and Forrest Street. There is lots of street parking. My office is a small cottage behind my house. Walk up the driveway (on the right of the house) and open the gate with the iron butterfly.

If someone walks out of my office feeling empowered, that is the best compliment they can give me. If they send me a referral, that is icing on the cake.
